Introductions
This is my first post here, and I would like everyone to know a little about me. First, I’m a writer. I love books and I love writing whatever is on my mind. Specifically, I love fantasy. It’s a favorite genre of mine and has been since I was a child reading The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis.
After graduating from childrens’ books very early, I was introduced to the challenging book called, “Ivanhoe” by author, Walter Scott. If anyone has read the original edition, not the modern one, you’ll know what I was in for. But the story was so fascinating (read to me by my mother at first), I was determined to keep going with it when she stopped. I think she did that on purpose! This led of course to Alexandre Dumas and his works. One day, while at the library, I wandered into an aisle with the title “adult fantasy”. Of course, this pricked my curiosity. When I found David Eddings, Robert Jordan, Raymond E. Feist… well, the rest is history.
In these articles, you’ll find I like to talk a lot about faith but not in the way you think. Oh &%#$! It’s a Christian! Well, Ok. But let’s be clear about something. I rarely read Christian fiction. Why? BECAUSE it sucks! Publishers push for squeaky clean, churchy drama that bores every single person! I hate it! I want the good stuff! And that’s what I aim to write as well.
This is where you will find the most content or most interesting, anyway.
The prologue and first chapter is online at Andrew Nusz - The Ansville Gatehouse
What my goal is, is to write out the complete story of “Ansville Gatehouse” and once it’s finished, compile it into an ebook/paperback and sell the thing on amazon.com Those who read it now will get it for free. On Substack, it would be great for readers to engage with me on the good, the bad, and the ugly of the work. Keep me in check and offer criticism. Don’t be an ass about it though or you will be blocked.
The story itself is a work of fantasy/steampunk/ with elements of scifi and dark tones. It’s the setup to a series I’m working on that won’t be online. “The Dragonblood Legacy” is a series in it’s editing phase that will be sold in ebook and paperback form.
